Nestlé Developmental Nutrition Plan

It was developed to meet your baby’s changing needs in each stage of development

In Stage 1. Your baby is slowly beginning to take notice of the outside world – and beginning with gentle first foods. After discussion with the family doctor, you can begin to diversify your baby’s menu. While still breastfeeding, you can now begin to introduce different kinds of purées, and iron fortified infant cereals.

In Stage 2. After starting with purée food, like peas and carrots, in Stage 1, your baby is ready to eat more varied foods and discover new tastes. As well as introducing new foods - such as meat, fish and iron fortified infant cereals - into your baby’s menu, you can now move to a new rhythm of more semi-solid meals a day.

In Stage 3. Your baby has made continued progress in the past two months – and can now move on from purée foods and enjoy their very first solid foods! Now it’s time to introduce very small pieces of pasta, rice, potatoes, fruits – to help him learn to chew. You can also give your baby the yellow part (the yolk) of a hardboiled egg. (The white part comes in Stage Junior).

In Stage Junior. At ease with more meals a day, your baby is now ready to discover a more varied diet. The new diet can now include some raw vegetables such as shredded carrot and lettuce, as well as more fruits. You can add vegetables such as lentils and green beans, and even mix in a few egg whites for baby’s first birthday! Soon your baby will be talking and walking! Think of all the adventures ahead!
