Caution! Don’t risk obesity!

Caution! Don’t risk obesity!

Women's Wellness

In today's world with hectic schedules, 24-hour restaurants and calorie-rich meals, it is becoming increasingly harder to maintain a healthy diet and easier to gain weight.

This is why it is very important to remember that as the weight piles up, every kilo gained becomes a burden on your body and threatens your life every passing day. Because obesity doesn't only mean gaining weight and the possibility of low self esteem, but encompasses many more serious diseases.

What are the health risks of obesity?

    • Heart disease
    • Increased blood pressure
    • Increased insulin levels which negatively affects blood sugar levels
    • Elevated blood sugar levels (diabetes)
    • Increased cholesterol and triglyceride levels
    • Some types of cancer
    • Shortness of breath (especially during the night)
    • Tiredness and exhaustion
    • Hormonal problems
    • Loss of bone mass
    • Accumulation of fats in the liver
    • Formation of kidney stones
    • Joint and back problems
    • Heart burn and gastric reflux
    • Inability to be active and exercise
    • Introversion and unsociability

Good to know:

Did you know that 1 in 3 people in the Gulf are overweight?

But the good news is that losing an average of 10% of excess weight by following a healthy diet and exercising will have positive effects on your health, and reduce the risk of diseases associated with obesity.
