Fruits and veggies: The natural way to eat healthy
Eating fruits and vegetables is an acquired habit, and is very beneficial for you, as they are related to our health, vitality, and beauty.
Have at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, in salads, soups, main courses, snacks or included in your morning or dinner sandwiches. One serving consists of half a cup of cooked vegetables, 1 cup of raw chopped vegetables or one medium-sized fruit.
Fruits and vegetables are rich in:
1. Minerals and vitamins (vitamin A, C, E) for healthy skin and radiant hair.
2. Healthy fibre which has a major role in regulating intestinal function, preventing constipation, intestinal discomfort and bloating.
3. Water which is important for the cells of the body and face, as well as facilitating digestion.
4. Antioxidants: in addition to the above benefits, colored fruits like tomatoes, carrots, spinach and broccoli, and a variety of fruits like oranges, strawberries and grapes have special benefits since they provide you with nutrients (antioxidants) which are great for your health and protect you from diseases, especially cancer and heart diseases.
