  • For the Dough:
  • 1.5 cups All purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Instant dried yeast
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Water
  • For the Filling:
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 400 g minced beef
  • 2 cubes MAGGI Chicken Stock
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 small Onions
  • 5 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese
  • 3 medium Cucumbers, pickled
  • 1 medium Tomato

How to prepare

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine All Purpose Flour, Salt and Yeast. Add oil and begin to knead dough. Once oil is absorbed, add warm water. Knead into an elastic dough.
  2. Shape dough into 3cm diameter balls, cover and set aside in a warm and draft free place and allow to rise and double in size, about 30 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, add Minced Beef and fry until cooked. Add MAGGI Chicken Stock and Water and simmer on medium heat until all liquid is absorbed.
  4. Once the dough has proofed, real out on a floured surface using a rolling pin, Roll out proofed dough balls into a flat disk about 15 cm wide.
  5. Spread about a teaspoon of Ketchup in the center, add same amount finely chopped Onions, top with a tablespoon of cooked beef, top with Cheese, Pickles and Tomatoes. Pinch 4 opposite point of the dough forming a bundle with the sides sealed.
  6. Repeat this step for the remaining dough and filling.
  7. Bake at 190 degrees C. in a pre-heated oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until pastry is golden and cooked.
  8. Serve with French fries and additional condiments.
