Ingredients 12 items

  • 1 cup date paste or 200 g
  • 150 g or ¾ cup softened butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tin Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk or 397 g
  • 1.5 cups or 210 g plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • For the topping:
  • 4 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 cup or 250 g mascarpone cheese
  • 1 tin Nestlé® Cream or 170 g
  • 50 g Icing sugar

How to prepare

  1. Combine date paste and butter then mix until well combined. Add eggs, mix, then add NESTLÉ Sweetened Condensed Milk, flour, baking powder and vanilla, mix for 3-4 minutes or until mixture is smooth and changes in color.
  2. Pour and spread the mixture into a greased and floured 23x28cm baking tin. Bake in a 190°C preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown in color and firm to touch when pressed in the middle with a finger.
  3. Set aside to cool to room temperature.
  4. For the topping:
  5. Mix butter and cheese until mixture is very smooth then add the NESTLÉ Cream and icing sugar and mix until well combined. Place in the fridge until it firms enough.
  6. Spread the topping over the cooled cake. Slice and serve.
