Ingredients 9 items

  • 1 tin Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk or 397 g
  • 100 g or ½ cup butter
  • 1 tin Nestlé® Cream or 170 g
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 cup dried dates or 200 g pitted
  • 1 cup or 250 ml water
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups tea biscuits or 200 g, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup ground pistachio nuts or 100 g

How to prepare

  1. Combine Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk, butter, Nestlé® Cream, cardamom and dates in a medium saucepan, bring to a boil, simmer and stir over low heat for 3 minutes or until dates soften.. Remove from heat. Add the water, stir and set aside to cool to room temperature.
  2. Place the cooled mixture in blender. Add eggs and vanilla, blend until mixture is smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture in a mixing bowl. Add broken biscuits and fold all together.
  4. Pour the mixture evenly over greased 28 x 24cm oven tin, lined with baking paper on the bottom of the pan and extend over 2 opposite sides.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 170˚C for 20-25 minutes or until it becomes firm.
  6. Set aside to cool. Slice and serve.
Reduce the sugar in your sweet recipes by incorporating dried fruits such as dates, apricots and raisins… Remember also that sugar has no nutritional value at all, whereas dried fruits can add a wealth of vitamins, minerals and healthy fiber to your cakes!
