Ingredients 9 items

  • 2 cups ground Almonds or 200 g
  • 1 cup plain flour or 140 g
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 tin Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk or 397 g
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¾ cup butter or 150 g, melted
  • ½ cup sugar or 100 g
  • 150 g strawberry jam

How to prepare

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl except for the jam. Mix well then pour the mixture into a 28cm x 24cm greased baking dish and lined with baking paper extended from both opposite sides.
  2. Bake in a 175ºC preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until top is golden.
  3. Allow to cool properly, spread strawberry jam on top then cut into slices and serve.
Still sweet, but sugar-free! Sugar-free jam is lower in calories as compared to normal jam; 1 tablespoon of normal "any-flavor" jam contains 50-60 calories vs 20 calories in sugar-free jam. And for diabetics, it's a great way to enjoy a sweet taste without elevating their blood sugar level!
