  • 300 g calamari, cleaned
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4½ cups water or 1125 ml
  • 1 sachet MAGGI Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 medium carrot or 150 g, cut into small cubes
  • ½ cup frozen green peas or 80 g, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons spring onions, chopped

How to prepare

  1. Using a sharp knife, cut the calamari tubes from one side until they become flat. Then cut the calamari into square or diamond shape pieces. Set aside.
  2. Warm olive oil in a medium non-stick saucepan, add and cook calamari over medium heat for 4-5 minutes or until calamari is cooked and water is steamed.
  3. Add oregano and stir for seconds then add water, MAGGI Cream of Mushroom Soup. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add carrots and green peas. Simmer with occasional stirring for 5 minutes.
  5. Add and stir with spring onion then serve.
Athough it's low in calories and fat, calamari is high in cholesterol! 100g of cooked calamari contain about 230mg. If compare that to your daily allowance of a maximum of 300mg, then it covers a lot! So make sure to have a moderate quantity and reduce your intake of cholesterol-rich food during the rest of your day.
