  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 medium onions or 300 g, cut into thin slices
  • ½ kg lamb, cut into small cubes
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 medium tomatoes or 300 g, chopped
  • 4 cups water or 1 litre
  • 2 cubes MAGGI Chicken Stock
  • 2 bunches fresh spinach or 600 g
  • ¼ cup rice or 50 g

How to prepare

  1. Finely chop the spinach. Wash and drain then set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large saucepan then cook onions for 5-6 minutes or until golden. Add meat and stir for 5 minutes. Add cumin and black pepper and stir for 1 minute.
  3. Add tomato paste, chopped tomato, water and MAGGI Chicken Stock cubes. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer over low heat for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
  4. Add spinach and rice and simmer for another 10-15 minutes or until rice is cooked.
