  • 1 can NESTLÉ Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 pieces mastic
  • 1 cup corn flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 15 g pistachio nut

How to prepare

  1. Prepare a medium-sized saucepan and 24cm medium-sized pan.
  2. In the saucepan, combine NESTLÉ Sweetened Condensed Milk with water, ground mastic and corn flour. Whisk until the corn flour is completely dissolved. Put the saucepan on medium heat while beating the mixture constantly until it thickens then leave to boil for 1 minute.
  3. Grease the bottom and edges of the pan with soft butter then coat with the powdered sugar. Put on high heat until the sugar caramelizes.
  4. Pour one third (1/3) of the first mixture over the caramel, forming straight lines, to cover the caramel as much as possible. Pour the remaining mixture, without stirring.
  5. Allow the caramel to boil for a minute until bubbles form around the edges. Remove the pan from heat and allow to cool in the refrigerator for many hours or for the whole night.
  6. Flip the Turkish Kazandibi on a plate and garnish with ground pistachios then serve.
