Mohallabiah with Sago and Coconut Mohallabiah with Sago and Coconut

Ingredients 9 items

  • 5 cups or 1250 ml water
  • 100 g sago
  • 1 tin Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk or 397 g
  • 100 g or ½ cup sugar
  • 50 g or ½ cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • 1 tablespoon blossom water
  • 2 tablespoons desiccated coconut
  • 2 tablespoons pistachio nuts

How to prepare

  1. Place water and sago in a casserole and bring to a boil, simmer over low heat with occasional stirring for 30 minutes or until sago is tender.
  2. Add Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk, sugar and coconut. Simmer again over low heat for 10 minutes or until mixture becomes thick.
  3. Add rose water and blossom water stir then pour over small bowls and set aside to cool to a room temperature.
  4. Mix toasted coconut and pistachio together. Garnish mohallabieh with the coconut mixture and chill in the fridge then serve.
If there's more than 4-5 hours gap between main meals, you should have a snack!
